Department of Microbiology
Microbiology is the study of all microorganisms which can’t be seen with the naked eye.These includes bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites collectively known as microbes. They are present everywhere. Microorganisms and their activities are important to all processes on earth. These microbes play important role in the cause and control of diseases, biodegradation, food spoilage, climate change, biotechnology etc and can be put for making life-saving drugs and vaccines, cleaning up pollution and processing food and drink.
Vision and mission of the department is to make India free from infectious agents and infections by updating and imparting knowledge and skills in Microbiology to the budding doctors.
